Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] for your use of GDM Companion. By creating an account you accept them.

What GDM Companion is — and isn't

GDM Companion is a self-management and educational tool. It helps you record your own meals and glucose readings and shows you patterns in that data.

It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice. It does not:

• diagnose gestational diabetes or any other condition;
• recommend or adjust medication, insulin or any treatment;
• set or change your glucose targets — you enter the targets your own care team gave you;
• predict outcomes for you or your baby.

Anything the app observes about your data is exactly that — an observation, intended to help you have a better conversation with your maternity or diabetes care team. Always follow their guidance. If you are worried about your health or your baby's, contact your midwife, GP, or NHS 111. In an emergency, call 999.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or over and able to enter a contract. The service is designed for people in the UK, using mmol/L and NHS terminology.

Your account

Keep your login details to yourself, and let us know promptly if you think someone else has access. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Please give accurate information — particularly your glucose targets, since the app uses them to colour your readings.

Payment, renewal and cancellation

• Free tier. Logging, your dashboard and your patterns are free and do not require a card.
• Monthly plan. Billed monthly in advance through Stripe until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your profile; access continues to the end of the period you've paid for.
• Whole pregnancy pass. A single payment, with no recurring billing and nothing to cancel.
• Founding member pricing. If you join at a launch price, that price applies for as long as your plan stays active.

Prices include VAT where it applies. We may change our prices, but a change will never affect a payment you have already made, and we will tell existing monthly subscribers before their price changes.

Your right to cancel

As a UK consumer you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content for a refund. Because premium features are made available to you immediately, you will be asked to agree to that immediate access and to acknowledge that you lose the 14-day cancellation right once it begins. If you have not used the premium features, contact us and we will deal with your request fairly.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

• use the service for anyone other than yourself, or enter someone else's health data without their knowledge;
• try to break, probe or overload the service, or access other people's data;
• copy, scrape or resell our content.

Our content

The app, its design, and the guidance content within it belong to us or our licensors. Your own logged data belongs to you — you can export or delete it at any time.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running but can't promise it will always be available or fault-free. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for any decision you make about your health, diet or treatment — those decisions belong with you and your care team — and our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
